The Steamboat ski area offers 65 miles of trails for all levels. Winter packages to Bear Mountain Ranch may include half or full day ski passes to the Steamboat Ski area.

The Howelson ski area, in downtown Steamboat, also offers night skiing, bobsledding and a ski jumping complex. Howelson holds a unique place in the history of skiing – established in 1914, it is the oldest ski area in continuous use in North America

Numerous places in the Steamboat area rent skis and boots at reasonable rates.

Enchanting Snow Cat Tours

At Bear Mountain Ranch, our snow cat tours offer a quiet journey through spectacular winter landscapes and back country skiing adventures on Bear and Diamond Mountains. A snow cat excursion is a unique experience. Our guide will transport you and your guests to remote sections of the Ranch in an enclosed heated cab. You may enjoy the pristine view reserved for our guests or cross country ski or snow shoe along a few of our trails in fresh powdered snow. Cross country skis may be rented from numerous outlets in Steamboat. We supply snow shoes.

The snow cat is for the private use of our guests.
